Born in Clearwater Florida, Mark Trotter grew up on the auspicious shores of Tampa Bay–a peninsula on a peninsula. He had loving parents who never said no to his endless exploits (unless there was fun to be had) and spent his childhood straddled between the academic, athletic, and musical realms. Between a “60 hour work week,” he managed to juggle all three through high school until graduation when he hung up the football pads for good.
His studies continued at Northwestern University where he originally entered as a dual-degree Applied Mathematics Engineer and Horn Performance Major. Shortly after Calculus IV and his second bout of Diff EQ, he decided music was his real passion…and dropped engineering for an added dual major in Music Theory. Currently in his Senior year at Northwestern, Mark has been playing as the 4th Horn of the Louisiana Philharmonic since September.
Mark is eternally grateful to God for his constant grace and his family for their continued whole-hearted support. He entirely blames Carolyn Wahl, Gail Williams, Jon Boen, and John Zirbel for his musical successes and remains optimistic about his future return to writing.
